is it the end of the WoT?

"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose.... The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of time. But it was a beginning." ~Robert Jordan

My Dad calls this morning to report sad news. Robert Jordan who has long been fighting Amyloidosis passed away yesterday afternoon. What terribly sad news. Years ago my Dad introduced me to Robert Jordan's book series The Wheel of Time. It is fantastic fantasy fiction. There have been 11 books plus a prequel that started in 1990. Every time a new book came out I would eagerly devour it in hopes of the beloved characters finding an end to their quest. Yet at the end of every book it was left unfinished and I would have to wait another year or two in pure torture to wait and find out what happens next. Jokingly I would always say, "You watch, he is going to end up dying before the series is ever finished leaving me to wonder how it's supposed to end forever." Never were words more true. Although he was currently working on book 12 it was not near completion and I am truly saddened. However, being the resourceful gal that I am I had recently discovered the official Robert Jordan website and subscribed to his blog feeds. Although he has been extremely ill he would still find time to update and if not him one of his other family members. So it is with great relief and hope that I read about the foresight of Mr. Jordan. One day not too long ago he had a little sit down with his nearest and dearest and regaled them with the full story and what becomes of all the characters. I could hardly believe it. All of it? You know how it ends?????? Now I'm not trying to make demands on a newly grieving family. By all means take your time to remember such a wonderful and gifted writer and family member in the time and way you need. All I ask is that one day you think of me and finish writing his last novel so I don't have to wait until my time comes to ask Mr. Jordan myself!
