hey mommy......

A new daily conversation between Declan and Mommy.........

8:25 a.m. Hey Mommy....where's Garrison? He's at school.

8:58 a.m. Hey Mommy....where's Garrison? He's at school. Why?
Well, so he can learn new things.

9:30 a.m. Hey Mommy....where's Garrison? He's at school.

11:15 a.m. Hey Mommy....where's Garrison? I don't know, where? He's at school? Yes. Why? So he can jump higher and run faster. Watch Mommy, I'm fast!

12:30 p.m. Hey Mommy....where's Garrison? ***sigh****Garrison's gone? He's at school. Ohhh, school....are you sure? Mommy.. you're silly.

2:30 p.m. Hey Mommy.....where's Garrison? Garrison who? Mommy! Garrison??? Declan, I don't know where he went. Do you? Mommy...he's at school! Oh I see, shall we go get him? Yay!

3:30 p.m. Hey Mommy.....Declan's hitting meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.........

The first week of school is officially done and he is still excited every morning to get up and go. Hooray! He comes home and tells us all about the art cart, practicing his letters and playing ball on recess...(the red ball is only for bouncing, not kicking or throwing!) He even bought lunch at school one day last week (hamburger day!) but was very disappointed that they were out of chocolate milk when it was his turn. He may never buy his lunch again! This week started his 10-15 minutes of nightly homework. We get to read a book and do simple workbook page stuff.
Declan and Corbin for their parts are adjusting pretty well. Declan is a little bit at a loss on how to play by himself instead of in the middle of whatever Garrison is doing. Declan is also in full on potty training mode and is 80% successful. He is doing pretty good and I know it's just a matter of time (and patience!) before he is fully trained. Corbin is now 10 months old and took his first steps the other night. Only two or three at a time but he did it more than once. I have been saying I thought he'd be running by Halloween and it looks as though my prediction may not be too far off.
It's State Fair time and it seemed as though another year was going to pass us by without getting to go. But we are taking the kids tonight as it is Kid's Day all day and all the rides are only $1. We will load them up with corn dogs and roller coaster rides then let them crash in the car on the way home! It should be fun and I am definitely looking forward to something disgustingly deep fried and yummy!!!
Labor Day weekend is fast approaching and that means summer is rapidly coming to an end. School has started and the days already seem busier. Soccer class starts again soon and Garrison is very excited. I personally can't wait for fall and am busy planning for Halloween! I've said it before and I'll say it again....Fall is my absolute most favorite time of year and I look forward to it every year. So here is to the hurrying up of beautiful weather, pumpkins and fall festivals. May your Fall start with a bang and an oven of pumpkin cookies to make the house smell great!
