still in control.....even from bed

Now I don't know about everyone else but I kind of enjoy grocery shopping. Although I generally buy the exact same things everytime I like finding out something is on sale or there is something new I have to have! Since being on bedrest I haven't been able to do much of that. And as much as Ryan tries, it's harder for him because of my multi-paged list. I give him exact sizes, brands, flavor, etc. of everything I buy. It's not that he couldn't do it on his own but I always do it and I know exactly what I want. Plus he ends up with the added distraction of the boys and it's just a recipe for grocery disaster. Mom generously offers to shop for us when she goes but she is already doing so much for us I feel really guilty sometimes. So yesterday, I decided to finally try out the home delivery program that Safeway has. You get to go online and order what you want, pick a delivery time and pay. They give you a reciept and then you just wait for the delivery to come. Much like anything you would order but with groceries. This morning just before 11am my groceries were delivered. I was so excited. Here I was grocery shopping again and it felt good. I didn't get to go physically into the store but I was able to still browse items, choose sizes and brands to my liking. It was pretty fun and I felt useful. Plus my cupboards and fridge don't look quiet so bare any more. I'm sure once our lives get back on a "normal" track again I will end up dreading dragging the kids to do my shopping but for now, it's fun and I feel useful, or as much as I can for now!
