Happy Thanksgiving to you all! We had a wonderful day spent with family this year. We headed up the mountain past South Lake Tahoe to my Grandma's house in Gardnerville, NV. It was fun and my boys had a fantastic day. Traffic was excellent, weather was gorgeous and the boys were able to see some snow. We had lots of food and drink and great company. Today, we will head to Mom and Dad's to raid the leftovers for sandwiches and other goodies.
So how many of you got up early or maybe never went to bed and went shopping? Anyone? For me personally, it's not my thing. I'd much rather stay in my warm bed and shop online! And this year is a pretty slim year for us personally anyhow so most of the deals weren't even near my price range this time around. I also think that having younger children, and all boys, a lot of the deals aren't even in our realm of things to buy quite yet. Maybe in a few years but so far I've been spared! I do try to take advantage of the online deals when I can and love that Amazon has done an entire week of deals. I don't even mind that they are limited time offers throughout the day. It seems almost more fun like a treasure hunt waiting to see what the next deal will be. I do like that some of our area store opened at Midnight for shoppers and that is something I'd be able to get into more so than getting up at 3am to shop at 4am. Or even spending the night outside in the cold to shop in the morning. Those are die hard people for sure!
As I sit here with my umpteenth cup of coffee I contemplate my living room and limited space once again. We don't generally put our Christmas decorations out until mid-December or so but the prep really needs to start soon around here. We have some pretty good sized furniture in a small sized living room and have to play the furniture swapping game to get it all to fit. I am hoping to try a live tree this year for the first time in a while. It's a gamble with the allergies in the house but we will see. If the forest doesn't do the kids in then I think we will be okay with one tree in the house. Although we still have our back up tree in the garage, just in case.
