artery clogging goodness

Foot long corn dogs, roasted corn on the cob, bbq sandwiches, deep fried.....well everything, giant cinnamon rolls and donuts, ice cream, frozen lemonade, cotton candy, pink popcorn and lots, lots more! It's that wonderful time of year for 3 whole weeks to forget your diet and pig out at the State Fair. But beyond the food there are the county exhibits, the cooking demonstrations, the wine gardens and of course all the vendors hawking their wares. Every "As Seen On TV" product imaginable and more. Don't forget the livestock, the working farm, the parades, and the fabulous midway! All the wonders of the fair and yet I'm so bummed out this year. Being on bedrest I can't exactly go spend the day walking around the fair. I could rent a wheelchair for the day but what a hassle. I mean have you ever tried pushing a stroller through the crowded aisles at the exhibits? Not going to be any better with a wheelchair. Plus I can't sit for an entire day, I'll still need to get up and walk a little bit or stop to recline for a while with my feet up. Bleh! I was so looking forward to my fried food extravaganza this year. I mean after all, I'm pregnant so no one is going to look twice if I am sitting with a large plate of garlic fries, fried artichoke hearts, a deep fried twinkie and an ear of corn. Let us not forget later when I need a "snack" of a smoked turkey leg, a funnel cake and a giant frozen lemonade. But alas, unless things drastically change instantly then I guess this is another year I will miss. Too bad I can't get them to deliver to me. .....sigh...... Next year cannot come too soon.
