do you have what it takes?

As little kids we never grow up saying we want to be Financial Advisors, Computer Techs or Retail Clerks. No, as kids we want to be Super Heroes. We want the save the world from Evil and wear a fancy cape and use all our cool Super Hero gadgets. We want to be able to fly, have laser vision, freeze things in their spots or stop a speeding train. We want to live forever and in fact believe we will. We swing from the neighbors tree, jump out of the swing on the swing set and will spy for hours on our sibiling just knowing they are up to no good! We build fantastic forts out of the dining room table, rescue princesses stranded in towers and save kitties from burning buildings. What imagination we all had. As a kid we could turn a refrigerator box or washing machine box into our command center and spend all day in there until our parents MADE us come in for bed.

And now as adults our lives tend to be very routine and at times mundane. Well I implore you all to dig deep and really think. In the world today what kind of super hero would you be? Using practical skills and knowledge how would you use your powers? More importantly, what would you wear? Still want the cape, mask, cool boots and tool belt? What would be in your tool belt???? I'd love to know what everyone comes up with.

Now you are all wondering what brought this on and I will tell you. The other day my wonderful dad turned me on to a website to check out. A new contest and reality show that involves none other than the brillant
Stan Lee. Sponsored through the Sci-Fi Channel is Who Wants To Be A Superhero?. The coolest thing I have ever seen and heard! Check it out and you will see just that I mean.

So come on people, dig deep and let's all be super heroes! And though we may not all be super hereos in the traditional sense, we are all a super hero to someone in our lives and someone is a super hero in your life. Remember to tell them that they are a super hero and then get to costume making!
