judge if you must, but don't laugh!

It's like salt to an open wound.........

A good piece back I happen to find out that a certain late 80's early 90's boy band was getting back together and going on tour. How excited was I? And while it didn't seem they would be coming exactly to my city they were coming within 2 hours of my city and on a Friday and on my birthday! What luck!! So as I patiently waited for tickets to go on sale I started mapping out the weekend in my mind. My best friend was going to come with me to the concert. We would stay the night. The husbands would meet up with us the next day in the city by the bay, we'd shop, eat, drink, laugh and have a great weekend. I even borrowed my brother's AMEX so I could get the early tickets! I know, I'm a total dork but I can't help it. I, like millions of other teens, was absolutely in love with these guys. Anyhow the week before tickets go on sale it happens.....laid off, again. Sigh.....deep breath in, deep breath out. Oh well, I'll survive. Perhaps they will go on tour again in the future. Maybe I'll get lucky and win some tickets. Do they even have a station that gives their tickets away? I've no idea, I generally don't listen to "pop" type music much so I'm not even sure where to start! But then I realized I'm a big girl and I'll survive without going to this concert.

Then I get a weblink........from my husband no less! Is he trying to intentionally make me sad?!? New venue has been added to their schedule.....that's right, MY city. Have I mentioned the arena is a mere 7.76 miles from my house. Door to door. Driveway to parking lot. And they will be here the day before my birthday! Could it be any better??? Oh wait, yeah, I could be able to buy some tickets! Oh well.....this is my life. I'm over it already......as you can see. I harbor no ill will to them and their decision to come to MY city. I hope the concert is successful. Really, I do. And if one of them accidentally trips and falls during the concert then maybe I'll feel a tad bit better. Maybe a little guilty too, but mostly better!
