it's a 30 kind of year

This is a year of 30's, birthday's that is. My best friend, her husband, myself and my husband all celebrate 30th birthday's this year. I am so exicted! Now I know not everyone feels that way but hear me out. First of all I've made it to 30 without any major catastrophe. I live a pretty good life, have a loving husband and a beautiful family. I don't think I've ever dreaded a birthday and I am not about to start this year. On the one hand, there will always be someone younger, faster and smarter than me. But on the other hand there will always be someone older, slower and not as smart as me. So it can't be all bad. Birthday's are meant to be a time of fun and celebration. Good food, good company and, in my older years, good drink! But for those of you who dread turning a year older here are a few things to remember........ Microsoft is 31 years old, Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction is 35 years old, the BBC two is 40 years old, the Kodak Instamatic was invented 53 years ago, and the SPCA will be 140 years old. So everything is relative. To Lexi.....Happy 30th Birthday today!!! I love you like crazy! Can't wait to catch up to you so we are the same age again! To everyone else enjoying a birthday this year, no matter how old you are, celebrate the best way you know how. Me personally, I am going to eat, drink and perhaps sing a little karaoke!
