what are your top five?

So friend Martha has recently written a "100 Things About Me" post. I truly enjoyed reading it as I do most of her posts. However, as most know or learned from my "Tagged" post I am not much of one for lists. But over the past two weeks as I have been trying to embrace a healthier lifestyle of eating and exercise I thought that maybe a list might help motivate me. But what kind of list is the one I need? What will help me focus and stay on the right track or bring me back when I've had a rotten day and eat half a bag of Oreos? I've sat and pondered this question since last Wednesday. Why Wednesday you might ask? Well Lex, (my super supportive and amazing best friend), came up with the brillant idea of a support group. You see she too is trying to live a healthier and more active lifestyle. So we decided to meet online every Wednesday night with her sister to help motivate and inspire one another to stay the line and not give up. So I need a positive list I think. One that I can come back to when I feel as though I am failing miserably or have hit the proverbial wall. I've decided for my top five list I am going to find the top five things I like about me. Not what others like but what I like and not the standard personality type things. The physical attributes I wouldn't change no matter what. Those will be my guiding inspirations to get the parts I don't like whipped in to shape. So here goes nothing.

My top five things I like about me!

1. I like my ears! Granted they are quite large but that has allowed me to repeatedly pierce them over the years and never run out of room! I love to wear earrings and feel pretty and when you have 7 available spaces that makes for seven times the prettiness!

2. I like my freckles! Without them I would surely look like a ghost. They give me a nice fauxish tan without all the sun damage or orange streaks!

3. I like my nails! I have always had a passion for nail polish and without nails I wouldn't have much to paint! Be it fingers or toes I would paint every day a different color if I had the time to do it. When I was much younger, (circa junior high), I did just that. I would come home from school everyday and change my polish. Color coordinated it too! It had to match the mondo layers of scrunchie socks afterall.

4. I like my hair! I love the fact that first, I have hair and second that you can never really mess it up too bad. I have an addiction to hair color. You name it I have probably been that color. What is so great about hair is that no matter how horrible and awful it may have turned out it can always be color corrected or cut and you start fresh!

5. I like my smile! Now the unfortunate part about my smile is that when I take pictures my cheeks tend to squish up my eyes making them closed. But barring that little set back, I like my smile for two reasons. One I have a round face so I have dimples when I smile. I never much had a like or dislike of them before but now that my sons have dimples I love them. A piece of me relected back everytime they smile. The second reason is that when I smile is shows off my beautifully straight teeth that I will always be proud of. They are straight and I am lucky to have never needed any help to get them that way.

Well this may not be much of an interesting list but I hope to use it to remind me of the things I like to encourage the other parts of me I would like to improve to be worthy of my top five list. Then maybe I will have to change it.

Great list girl... I think you need a top 5 things you DON'T like too.. to remind you WHY your doing this! WHAT your goals are.. etc! Maybe even make yourself a little reward chart. For example when you loose 5 pounds you get a facial, at 10 pounds a new outfit, 15 a trip to Martha's. LOL.. you get the point!!

And umm why was I not invited to these Wednesday night chats?? What am I too fat for the group?
